ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India awaiting permit for setting up greenfield steel plant in Odisha

According to the CEO of AMNS India, AMNS India is looking forward to getting forest and environment clearances to set up a greenfield steel plant with an annual production of 12 million tons in Odisha.

AMNS India is a joint venture company of ArcelorMittal based in Luxembourg and Nippon Steel from Japan.

Back in March 2021, AMNS signed an MoU with the government of Odisha for building up a greenfield steel plant in Kendrapara, with a total investment of around Rs 50,000 crore.

According to AMNS India, the company has initiated a feasibility study for the project, and the company also submitted the report to the government of Odisha in the fourth quarter of 2021.
