Global stainless steel consumption expected to grow in 2022 & 2023

According to a report from the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF), global stainless consumption was expected to grow by 3.6% in 2022 and by 3.2% in 2023, both compared to the year-ago period.

In 2022, China’s stainless steel consumption will go up by 3.4%, the consumption of Asia, outside China, will increase by 4.9%, and the US’ will hike by 5.2%, all year on year.

In 2023, the consumption of stainless steel in China, Asia (excluding China), and the US was expected to grow by 3.2%, 3.9%, and 3% year on year, respectively.
