Global stainless steel output falls by 5.1% in Jan-Sep

According to the latest statistics on stainless steel production from the World Stainless Association, the global stainless steel production from January to September of this year decreased by 5.1% year on year to 41.9 million tons.

During the period, the output of stainless steel in the European market fell by 11% year on year to 4.809 million tons. The output of stainless steel in the US fell 13% year on year to 1.589 million tons.

Meanwhile, the output of stainless steel in China decreased by 5% year on year to 24.936 million tons. The overall stainless steel output of other Asian countries fell slightly by 0.4% year on year to 5.746 million tons.
