Many stainless steel industry enterprises will convene in Mumbai for the Global Stainless Steel Expo 2025 (GSSE 2025) held from June 4 to June 6. A main agenda item will be the rising import of cheaper stainless steel, which increased by 3% year on year to 1.73 million tons in the fiscal year 2025, primarily from China, Indonesia, Vietnam, and South Korea, according to BigMint, a price reporting platform. These imports are significantly impacting domestic producers.
Organized by Virgo Communications and Exhibitions (VCE), the event will gather more than 10,000 industry professionals to discuss solutions to this challenge. Other topics include demand creation, emissions goals, exports, R&D of new technologies, promoting innovation, and so forth. The summit will help in encouraging collaborations in India's stainless steel industry, which has a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8-9%, outperforming the global average of 5.8%.
