Guinea’s bauxite shipment grows by 4% in 2021

According to statistics from Guinea’s Ministry of Mines and Geology, Guinea, the largest bauxite exporter in Africa, shipped 85.6 million tons of bauxite in 2021, rising by 4% compared to 82.4 million tons in the previous year.

Besides, the ministry’s report also showed that Rusal’s Friguia alumina refinery in Guinea exported around 430,200 tons of alumina last year, down by 5.1% year on year.

In terms of iron ore, the export volume was 1.1 million tons in 2021.
