According to the International Aluminium Institute survey, primary aluminium production in the Gulf Cooperation Council during October 2023 stood at 518,000 tonnes, reflecting a hike of 18,000 tonnes or 3.6 per cent month-on-month.
The output in October recorded a recovery from a month-on-month decline in September from 517,000 tonnes to 500,000 tonnes. That indicated a 3.3 per cent M-o-M fall to the second least output this year after 474,000 tonnes in February.
On a year-on-year calculation, primary aluminium production in the Gulf during October 2023 edged a rise of 7,000 tonnes or 1.37 per cent from 511,000 tonnes, learned IAI.
In the first ten months of 2023, Gulf countries primary aluminium production totalled 5.09 million tonnes, much ahead of the previous year’s 5.05 million tonnes.
In October 2023, the average daily primary aluminium production in Gulf countries stood at 16,700 tonnes, unchanged from the previous month despite a hike in monthly output. On an annual basis, Gulf countries’ average daily production was 200 tonnes higher than 16,500 tonnes.
The world’s primary aluminium production in October 2023 was 6.12 million tonnes, up by 3.38 per cent from 5.92 million tonnes in September 2023 and 3.9 per cent higher than 5.886 million tonnes in October 2022.
