Hyundai Steel cuts Japanese scrap purchase prices

South Korea's Hyundai Steel has lowered its bid prices for Japanese scrap, Kallanish notes. The South Korean steelmaker's bid on 13 July for Japanese H2 scrap was at JPY 47,700/tonne ($344), down JPY 500 from its previous auction on 23 June. Its bid prices for H1/H2, shredded scrap and HS scrap are at JPY 48,200/t, JPY 51,500/t and JPY 52,500/t respectively (see below).
