Hyundai Steel & POSCO Chemical sign MoU for Hyundai’s refractory blast furnace repair

Hyundai Steel and POSCO Chemical have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the refractory business for NO.1 blast furnace repair at Hyundai’s Dangjin steel plant.

Hyundai Steel said that POSCO Chemical has experience in the related field through 20 blast furnace renovations and owns technologies and equipment for blast furnace repair.

Besides, Hyundai Steel provides emergency assistance for five chartered vessels to the POSCO Pohang steel mill, which faced the Pohang Naengcheon flood in September.
