IAI: Global alumina production rises in May

According to statistics released by the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), global alumina production totaled around 12.17 million tons in May, growing by 3.86% compared to the previous month and by 8.57% from the same month a year ago. Among them, China's alumina production accounted for roughly 6.5 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 3.33% and a year-on-year hike of 10.9%.

In the first five months of this year, global alumina production amounted to roughly 58.16 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.07%. Among them, China’s output occupied around 31.2 million tons, up by 9.5% year on year.
