In May Turkish iron ore imports increased

Turkey imported approximately 871,000 tons of iron ore in May 2021, decreasing by 12.3% from the previous month while increasing by 11% from the same month a year ago.

Turkey imported around 385,000 tons from Brazil, sliding by 25.71% year on year, followed by Ukraine (about 263,000 tons), Russia (about 144,000 tons), and Sweden (about 80,000 tons).

In the first five months of 2021, Turkey imported roughly 4.4 million tons of iron ore and the import value was about US$723 million, increasing by 17.2% and soaring by 99.7% from the same period last year. respectively. Among them, Brazil was the largest supplier with about 2.04 million tons.
