Inalum has budget of $318 million to support downstream aluminum projects

PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum), an Indonesian state-owned company specialized in aluminum smelting, had a plan to budget US$318 million in 2021 to support several downstream projects and raise their aluminum production capacity.

According to Oggy Achmad Kosasih, Inalum’s managing director, the capital expenditure will be used in several projects, including the Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery (SGAR) in Mempawah, and the expansion plan and the construction of furnace modernization of the aluminum smelter in North Sumatra.

Besides, in 2021, Inalum is also working to raise the capacity of a hydropower plant, integrate bauxite mines, recycle aluminum, and so on.
