India initiates first CVD sunset review on China's stainless steel flat products

On October 8, 2021, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India announced to initiated the first sunset review investigation of countervailing duty (CVD) on certain hot-rolled and cold-rolled stainless steel flat products originating in or exported from China.

This sunset review was based on applications filed by Indian companies Jindal Stainless Limited and Jindal Stainless (Hisar) Limited on behalf of the domestic industry.

The products involved are under subheadings 7219 and 7220.

The period of investigation of this CVD case was from April 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 (15 months), and the injury investigation period was from April 2017 to March 2018, April 2018 to March 2019, April 2019 to March 2020, and the period of investigation.
