According to the report, the European Union (EU) imported around 160,000 tons of hot-rolled coils (HRC) from India in April, which hit a record-high export of Indian hot-rolled coils to the EU since October 2021. Meanwhile, the EU imported about 837,000 tons of HRC in April, which increased by 47% compared to last month.

In addition, Indonesia also exported around 60,000 tons of HRC to the EU, which was more than the total sales of the past ten months because the Indonesian HRC has a list in the developing country of the EU steel safeguard measure.

Chinese suppliers recently confronted pressure from India, and Indonesia's HRC exports to the EU are rising steadily. It is difficult to compete with Asian competitors in the next few months.
