India's crude steel output fell to 9.968 million tons in June, down by 6.5% month on month, the lowest level in half a year.

After India imposed export tariffs in May, it directly impacted exports in June while reducing the enthusiasm of steel mills to produce.

Indian steel prices fell by around 15% in June, and the inventories rose in the market. As a result, some mills have brought forward their traditionally timed September and October maintenance activities. Some steel mills reduced production every 3 to 5 days a month to limit inventory growth.
