India’s HRC exports decrease in FY22

In the fiscal year 2022, India’s hot-rolled coils exports were nearly 7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.37%. The exports in March were 701,000 tons, down by 0.74%.

Among them, Vietnam was the main country that India exported, with nearly 1.7 million tons and falling by 24.4% year on year. The following are the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Italy, Nepal, and Belgium, with around 948,000 tons, 885,000 tons, 641,000 tons, 349,000 tons, and 322,000 tons, respectively.

Apart from hot-rolled coils, the billet exports from India dropped by 27.71% to nearly 4.8 million tons in the fiscal year 2022. In March, India’s billet exports were around 268,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 47.3%. China imported nearly 1.3 million tons from India, followed by Nepal’s 874,500 tons, Indonesia‘s 586,000 tons, Sri Lanka’s 400,000 tons, Italy’s 305,000 tons, and Kenya’s 271,000 tons, respectively.
