Nippon Steel Stainless Steel Corp (NSSC), the largest stainless steel producer in Japan, announced its price adjustment of stainless steel wire rods for May-June contract.

The price of nickel-based benchmark steel grade will be increased by 155,000 yen per ton, and that of chrome-based benchmark steel will be raised by 25,000 yen per ton. Both the alloy surcharge and base price were adjusted.

For the nickel-based stainless steel products, it was the largest price hike since the June-August contract price in 2007.
