Indonesia’s Adaro Group planning expansion for aluminum smelter & power plant

PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk, a leading coal mining company in Indonesia, is planning an expansion project for an aluminum smelter and power plant. The details of the process are being planned, and the construction process was expected to need 24 months.

This aluminum smelter, owned by Adaro Group’s subsidiary PT Kalimantan Aluminium Industry (KAI), will have an annual production capacity of 2 million tons, and the plant will be located in Kalimantan Industrial Park Indonesia, Bulungan, North Kalimantan.

Besides, a power plant will be built to support the demand for electricity from an aluminum smelter project, owned by PT Kaltara Power Indonesia, another Adaro Group’s subsidiary.
