US crude oil inventories fell unexpectedly last week, and crude oil imports hit a two-year low. Also, the Iraqi Kurdistan region suspended crude oil export, offsetting pressure from a smaller-than-expected reduction in Russian production. International crude oil prices rose on March 30.

Brent crude for May delivery rose by US$0.99 (1.3%), settling at US$79.27/barrel.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for May delivery increased by US$1.40 (1.9%), reaching US$74.37/barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
