Italy’s crude steel production falls in Feb

According to statistics from the Italian steelmakers' association Federacciai, Italy’s crude steel production totaled around 1.9 million tons in February, dropping by 7.3% compared to the same month a year ago.

During the period, the output of Italy’s flat steel products was down by 10.7% year on year to around 805,000 tons, and that of long products decreased by 7% year on year to 1.12 million tons.

In the first two months of this year, Italy produced a total of 3.45 million tons of crude steel, a year-on-year decrease of 10.8%. The production of flat steel products amounted to 1.5 million tons, down by 14% year on year; the output of long products was 1.8 million tons, dropping by 13% year on year.
