China’s stainless steel exports hit 3-year low in Feb

According to statistics, China’s stainless steel imports totaled around 187,000 tons in February, up by 24.5% compared to the previous month but falling by 41.7% from the same month a year ago.

Meanwhile, the exports of stainless steel were 253,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 30.7% and a year-on-year reduction of 10.2%. This figure hit a new low since July 2020.

In the first two months of this year, China’s stainless steel imports dropped by 52.1% year on year to 338,000 tons, of which imports from Indonesia decreased by 59% to 253,000 tons. The exports amounted to 618,000 tons, sliding by 9.5% year on year.
