Japan's crude steel production falls by 5.5% in Jun

According to statistics from the Japan Iron and Steel (JISF), Japan's total crude steel output was 5.6 million tons in June, decreasing by 5.5% compared with May and down by 36.3% year on year.

Separately, Japan’s total pig iron production in June was roughly 4.2 million tons, falling by nearly 5.0% from the previous month and decreasing by 36.3% compared with the same period last year.

In the first half of this year, Japan’s pig iron output was around 31.9 million tons, falling by 15.8% year on year; crude steel output was approximately 42.2 million tons, down by 17.4% year on year.
