In June, steel exports from Latin America to the US declined significantly. Specifically, in June, Latin America exported around 483,000 tons of steel products to the US, about 30.9% less compared with the previous month. While compared with the previous year, the monthly steel export decreased by 306,800 tons.

The main factor of such a result is considered to be the weak supply of Brazil and Mexico.

According to statistics, Brazil remained an important steel exporter for the US in June, offering almost 58.3% of the total steel imports received by the US. Data showed that the US imported around 281,400 tons of steel products from Brazil in June, 31.5% less than the previous month.
