LME aluminium benchmark price drops by US$10/t to US$2,205.5/t; SHFE price dips by US$14/t

LME aluminium opened at US$2,274.5 per tonne on Monday, with high and low at US$2,276 per tonne and US$2,234 per tonne, respectively, before closing at US$2,237 per tonne, a drop of US$35 per tonne or 1.54 per cent.

On Monday, January 8, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price dropped by US$10 per tonne or 0.45 per cent to halt at US$2,205 per tonne and US$2,205.50 per tonne.

As per the London Metal Exchange (LME) data, the 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price fell by US$10 per tonne or 0.44 per cent to settle at US$2,252 per tonne and US$2,253 per tonne. December 25 bid price and December 25 offer price went down by US$2 per tonne or 0.07 per cent to close at US$2,508 per tonne and US$2,513 per tonne.

LME aluminium opening stock scored at 569100 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants closed at 388800 tonnes and 180300 tonnes. 3-month Asian Reference Price slumped by US$12.77 per tonne or 0.55 per cent to reach US$2,268 per tonne.
