LME aluminium price moves up by US$5/t, but loses 4.18% W-o-W; SHFE price contracts by US$15/t

After witnessing a fall for the past few days, the LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price moved up by US$4.5 per tonne or 0.19 per cent and US$5 per tonne or 0.22 per cent. The prices as of Tuesday, July 23 settled at US$2,263 per tonne and US$2,264 per tonne. 

W-o-W the LME aluminium benchmark price had declined by US$99 per tonne or 4.18 per cent from US$2,363 per tonne. As per the LME price graph, both 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price inched down by US$1 per tonne or 0.04 per cent and US$0.5 per tonne or 0.02 per cent to settle at US$2,315 per tonne and US$2,316 per tonne.

December 25 bid price and December 25 offer price dipped by US$3 per tonne or 0.12 per cent to halt at US$2,472 per tonne and US$2,477 per tonne. LME aluminium opening stock came in at 952225 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants stood at 397350 tonnes and 554875 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price dwindled by US$24.06 per tonne or 1.02 per cent to clock at US$2,313.85 per tonne.

SHFE aluminium price

On Wednesday, July 24, the SHFE aluminium benchmark price contracted by US$15 per tonne or 0.56 per cent to dock at US$2,645 per tonne. The most-traded SHFE aluminium 2409 contract opened at RMB 19,340 per tonne overnight, reaching a high of RMB 19,410 per tonne and a low of RMB 19,310 per tonne. It closed at RMB 19,350 per tonne, up RMB 60 per tonne, a decrease of 0.31 percent.
