The LME aluminum price surpassed the US$4,000/ton level for the first time this morning due to concerns on disrupted supply in the aluminum and energy market caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The three-month aluminum future price reached record highs every day in the previous week. The price hiked to US$3,820/ton on March 4 after hitting a new high at US$3,340/ton earlier in February.

The global sanction imposed on Russian industry has led to a surge in aluminum prices, despite no sanctions on specific metals.
