Universal Stainless hikes nickel premium surcharges, starting in May

Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. (USAP) announced yesterday (March 7) that it will increase the nickel premium used in its calculating surcharges for raw materials, effective from May, to reflect raw material costs in March.

The nickel surcharge for argon oxygen decarburization (AOD) grades was up from US$0.38/lb to US$1.70/lb, and that for vacuum induction melting (VIM) grades was increased to US$2.70/lb.
