In order to support sustainable metal production, the London Metal Exchange (LME) announced its plan about setting up a low carbon aluminum spot trading platform, which was expected to courage registered producers to voluntarily record the carbon-related details of their metal production.

In addition, the platform was also expanded to other sectors in the future, such as special alloys and other metals.

The LME is currently requesting comments on this proposal, and the trading platform was expected to be launched in the first half of next year.
