After two South Korean mills Dongkuk Steel and Hy Steel passed the Chinese National Standards (CNS) certificate from Taiwan, the third foreign mill Alliance Steel, Malaysia also got CNS approval recently.

According to statistics, Taiwan imported around 6,000 tons of H sections from Malaysia in the first half of last year but suspended since last July due to CNS certificate required.

Malaysian H sections occupied a small share in Taiwan domestic market. Taiwan mainly imports from South Korea and Japan, but the future impact of the Malaysian supplier's participation on Taiwan's market was not predictable.
