MEPS: Global crude stainless steel production to be largely driven by China

According to the latest report released by the independent steel industry analyst MEPS, after a decline in output last year, the global crude stainless steel production was expected to rebound greatly by more than 8% year on year in 2021, reaching 55 million tons.

The main driving force was strong activities in China, which largely increased output to meet strong demand from the domestic market amid government’s stimulus measures and soaring global prices.
