The European Steel Association (EUROFER) stated that it was the first essential step to imposes temporary anti-dumping (AD) duties on imports of cold-rolled stainless steel sheets from India and Indonesia, and the countervailing duty (CVD) measures were expected to come soon.

After the investigation launched by the European Commission last August, the dumping prices of stainless steel imported from India and Indonesia was confirmed, which has been causing significant harm to the EU stainless steel industry.

The provisional investigation results of the EU's CVD investigations on cold-rolled stainless steel sheets in India and Indonesia were expected to be announced by the end of 2021.

According to EUROFER, producers in the two countries have been benefiting from major distortions in the cost of raw materials for stainless steel production, which was the result of the governments’ measures to unfairly support their export-oriented industries.
