Metro Mining ends mining operating season early at Bauxite Hills Mine

Metro Mining Limited, an Australia-based exploration and mining company, announced that it has decided to end its mining operating season at its Bauxite Hills Mine ahead of schedule, same as previous years, due to weather conditions that might endanger the mining operations and offshore shipping operations at Bauxite Hills.

Metro Mining said its production could meet the previously declared guidance, reaching 3.6 million to 3.7 million metric wet tons in 2022. However, owing to the early closure and a mechanical failure, the estimated total sales only reached 3.41 million wet metric tons this year, lower than expectations.
