Metro Mining Limited, an Australia-based exploration and mining company, is aiming to ship 6.5 million tons of bauxite in 2026, driven by a planned expansion and debottlenecking at its Bauxite Hills Mine in Queensland. This production increase came after a period of record performance for the Australian company.

Metro Mining achieved record shipments of 2.3 million wet metric tons in the third quarter of 2025, and the year-to-date output reached 4.1 million tons. In August, the company’s bauxite output increased by 6%, totaling 753,101 wet metric tons.

CEO Simon Wensley expressed confidence, mentioning that strong offtake agreements and market reputation mitigate investor uncertainty. The company reported a record half-year net profit of $120 million for the first half of 2025, confirming the mine's strong cash generation potential.
