Nippon Steel Corporation, the largest steel mill in Japan, decided last Thursday to raise the domestic sales price of its stainless steel section products by another 20% to reflect high production costs, effective from May.

The price adjustment will be applied to all 300 series products, including angle bar, channel bar, flat bar, rolled H-beam, and C-shaped hot-rolled bar produced at its plant in Niigata.

In addition, Japan's Aichi Steel also announced on the same date to hike its sales prices of stainless steel section steel products by 20-25% for the nickel series and 10-15% for the chromium series, applied to the contracts signed from April this year, to reflect production costs.
