Norsk Hydro, a Norwegian aluminum and renewable energy company, said last week that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with New Fortress Energy (NFE). According to the agreement, NFE will provide liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Norsk Hydro’s Alunorte alumina refinery in Brazil.

The LNG supply will be started next year, and the validity period of this agreement was 15 years.

John Thuestad, Executive Vice President for Hydro Bauxite & Alumina, said this agreement supports Hydro’s climate strategy and its target to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030.
