Norsk Hydro said that it will further reduce the aluminum output at its majority-owned plant in Slovakia due to the high costs of electricity.

The capacity of the Slovakian aluminum plant, 55.3% owned by Norsk Hydro, was planned to be cut to approximately 60% from the current 80%, equivalent to a reduction of 35,000 tons of aluminum per year. The capacity was announced to be reduced to 80% in 2019.
