After the expansion, the mill will produce aluminum foil sheets and rolls applied in commercial and residential kitchens later this year.
Novelis Inc., a leading producer of flat-rolled aluminum products based in Atlanta, invested US$7 million to expand its aluminum processing plant in Terre Haute, and several idled pieces of equipment will be restarted.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. provided Novelis with US$475,000 in conditional tax credits based on the firm's job creation plans.
The Trump Administration launched anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations on 18 nations last March; therefore, Novelis decided to reenter the aluminum market to gain more market shares.
