Novelis Inc., a Georgia-based industrial aluminum company, planned to invest US$365 million to build an aluminum recycling center in Kentucky to meet the growing demand for low-carbon aluminum in the automotive industry. It will be the first casting facility that focuses on automotive sheet production in North America.

In the past 40 years, demand for aluminum in the automotive industry has been expanding, the trend of which was expected to continue until at least 2030.
