The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has lowered its forecast of global GDP growth to 4.2% for 2021 from the previous 5% expected in September. The figure for 2022 was estimated at 3.7%.

The OECD said that the global economy will shrink by 4.2% this year, which slightly increased by 0.3% from the September forecast.

In addition, people have been optimistic about the future economy since the news of COVID-19 vaccines were released. However, the OECD said the prospects are still full of uncertainty in the near future.
