Outokumpu, a European leading stainless steel manufacturer based in Finland, will delay the resumption of one of its three ferrochrome furnaces after its scheduled maintenance break due to unusually high energy prices and unstable energy markets.

The maintenance outage began on September 7, with a restart initially planned for week 40. The production of ferrochrome will continue running at roughly 70% of its full capacity, but it will not affect its stainless steel delivery or its financial outlook for the third quarter.
