Corporación Aceros Arequipa S.A. (CAASA), a Peruvian steel company, has set up a new production plant for tubes and formed profiles in Bolivia, with a total investment of more than US$20 million.

The new plant has an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons, and it is the most modern factory in the country.

The launch of the plant will help improve service to local customers and increase exports to neighboring countries, such as Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil, said Tulio Silgado, CEO of CAASA.

With the new plant, the company can increase the quality of its products to the next level as the finished products can be better preserved if they are produced locally.
