South Korean steelmaker POSCO planned to resume operations at all of its blast furnaces in Pohang this week, which were shut down by the typhoon on September 6.

After resuming the operation of the third blast furnace on September 10, POSCO restarted the fourth blast furnace on Monday and the second blast furnace on Tuesday.

POSCO said that the typhoon hit its wire rod and stainless steel plants, with rolling facilities suffering the most from flooding. Therefore, the company planned to increase production in Gwangyang, which wasn’t affected by the typhoon, to meet buyer demand.
