POSCO, the biggest stainless steel manufacturer in South Korea, was flooded by a strong typhoon and had a fire accident. The plant was out of power, and its production and shipment were both halted. It was expected to take a long time to restore the facility.

South Korea is the primary source that provides Taiwan with hot-rolled steel, cold-rolled steel, coated steel products, and medium-thick plates. The market participant said it is still uncertain whether POSCO will delay delivery.
