Rio Tinto appoints Jérôme Pécresse as new CEO of aluminum business

Global mining company Rio Tinto has appointed Jérôme Pécresse as CEO of its aluminum business, succeeding Ivan Vella.

Jérôme has until recently served as president and CEO of General Electric (GE) Renewable Energy, and he will join Rio Tinto on October 23, 2023.

Jérôme has more than 30 years of business experience, including senior leadership roles within global companies in the mining and energy sectors.

Jérôme said that he will work with Rio Tinto’s teams around the world to continue building a stronger and more sustainable global aluminum business and play a key role in delivering on the company’s strategy and supplying materials required for a low-carbon world.
