Oleg Deripaska, the founder of RUSAL, believed that the export tax for aluminum, which will be effective on August 1, should be canceled.

Roman Andryushin, RUSAL's general director for sales in Russia, the CIS, and China, thought that the price of aluminum is not a peak, and the cost of production has increased significantly. Therefore, if the government's goal was to withdraw excess profits, the company in fact does not have it.

Analysts said that RUSAL will be the most affected company from the new export policy in Russia. The firm may lose 24% of EBITDA.
