Russian ChTPZ expands production of stainless steel pipes

According to the Chelpipe Group, one of the largest pipe manufacturers globally, the Russian stainless steel seamless pipe consumption in 2019 was about 38,000 tons, increasing 8,500 tons over last year.
The growth was mainly due to the imports, as the pipe prices were expected to rise and the tariffs will be imposed on Chinese steel pipes.
Therefore, experts said that the apparent demand will decrease to 34,000-35,000 tons in 2020, although real consumption will almost the same as a year earlier. About 80% of the demand came from the mechanical engineering, energy, and petrochemical industries.
