Russian stainless steel imports grow in Jul

According to statistics released by the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (SpetsStal Association), Russia imported around 31,000 tons of stainless steel in July, up by 3.8% compared to the previous month.

Among them, the imports of stainless flat steel products had a month-on-month increase of 8.6%; those of stainless steel seamless pipes had a month-on-month growth of roughly 17%; those of electric welded stainless steel pipes had a month-on-month hike of 15.2%; those of stainless steel wire was up by 59% from last month; those of stainless steel billet climbed by nearly 44% compared to the previous month.

The import volume of cold-rolled stainless steel was down by 1.3% month on month, and that of stainless steel long products dropped by nearly 1.0% from June.
