Russia’s stainless steel imports fall in Jun

According to statistics released by the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (SpetsStal Association), Russia imported around 29,000 tons of stainless steel in June this year, falling by 24% compared to the previous month.

During the period, the import volume of cold-rolled stainless steel products was down by 31% and that of hot-rolled stainless steel products slid by 26%, both on a month-on-month basis.

The imports of stainless steel welded pipes grew by 5% month on month, and the volume of stainless steel seamless pipes had a month-on-month increase of nearly 18%. Meanwhile, stainless steel long products and wire imports hiked by 237.4% and 53% month on month, respectively.
