Russia’s stainless steel imports hike in Jan-Nov 2020

According to statistics released by the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (SpetsStal Association), in the first 11 months of last year, Russia imported around 347,500 tons of stainless steel, up by 5.1% compared to the same period a year ago.

Among them, the imports of cold-rolled stainless steel had a year-on-year increase of 9.8% and hot-rolled stainless steel also had a hike compared to the same period in 2019.

During the period, the import value reached approximately US$825 million, dropping by 5.4% year on year, of which China accounted for 39.3% of the total value. India ranked second with a proportion of 13.7%, followed by Indonesia (8.2%), Taiwan (7%), and South Korea (5.8%).
