Russia’s stainless steel imports rebound in Mar

According to statistics from the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (USSA), Russia imported nearly 40,000 tons of stainless steel in March this year, soaring by 84% compared to the previous month and rising by 43% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the imports of cold-rolled stainless steel hiked by 87%, hot-rolled stainless steel rose by 69%, welded pipes increased by 11%, seamless pipes surged by 123%, and long products soared by 142%.

Russia’s stainless steel imports from China accounted for the largest proportion at 78%.

Driven by strong demand, Russia’s stainless steel imports are rebounding, said the association.
