Russia’s stainless steel imports rise in Jan-Nov

According to statistics from the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (USSA), Russia’s stainless steel imports amounted to around 412,200 tons in the first 11 months of this year, rising by 12.4% compared to the same period a year ago.

In November alone, Russia imported roughly 44,100 tons of stainless steel, sliding by 2.5% month on month. Among them, China was the largest import source, accounting for 55.3% of the total, followed by India’s 17.6%, Indonesia’s 6.8%, South Korea’s 3.2%, and Ukraine’s 2.5%.

During the period, Russia’s stainless steel import value totaled more than US$139 million, a month-on-month increase of 3.2%.
